Right now, at The Breslin, we’re serving candles with scents and vibes so wicked, they might just summon something. But let’s be real—that’s the allure.
It’s time to move beyond the binary of good and evil, to embrace the strange magic of domestic glamour, and indulge in the delicious drama of scent and shadow. Each candle is housed in a prismatic glass container, featuring 19th-century demonology illustrations by Louis Le Breton—originally created for Dictionnaire Infernal, a richly illustrated encyclopedia of demons, spirits, and supernatural lore. We didn’t choose these out of fear, but fascination: these figures speak to a world where darkness isn’t evil—it’s just misunderstood, complex, and sometimes fabulous.
This season, it’s all about our demons. So, let’s nurture them, water our houseplants, stir up a little chaos, and step into our power. I can see the future, and you’re shimmering. It’s nothing short of breathtaking.
